91Ƶ Holds Commencement for Class of 2022

91Ƶ celebrated the Class of 2022 with two commencement ceremonies on Saturday, May 14, 2022. The ceremonies were held in the College’s courtyard.

President Jo Allen, ’80, and Senior Class President Casey Corpening, ’22, were the featured speakers.

Corpening focused on the hard work she and her classmates had done in order to complete their degrees and achieve their goals, supported by each other and the Meredith community.

“From this point forward, know that no work or task is ever going to be too hard because you’ve got the best team in the game and that team consists of everyone sitting here with you today …,” Corpening said. “When you are faced with challenges beyond the iron gates of 91Ƶ, know that you’ve been faced with hard challenges and put in the hard work to surpass them.”

In her closing remarks, President Allen reflected on “Lux” from the College seal.

“You have known and lived the Lux, meaning ‘light,’ a lamp of learning that is proudly featured in the 91Ƶ seal,” Allen said. “Hold it in your heart, for you will need its light to guide your path and in turn, the world will look to you as a beacon of promise.”
